Photobiomodulation
Photobiomodulation, often shortened to PBM, is a more technical term for using light to influence biological processes. Buyers will often see it used in red light therapy and near-infrared panel marketing.
Why buyers should care
The term itself does not make a product better. It simply signals that the brand is using more clinical or technical language than saying red light therapy alone.
How brands misuse it
Some brands use PBM to sound more scientific even when the underlying product page is still vague about wavelength, dose, distance, or practical use.
